Get a free half hour consultation with a local volunteer attorney covering a range of topics such as default judgment, housing/eviction, consumer issues, conciliation court, and automobile title transfers. Virtual: Managing Your WordPress Website or Blog

Tuesday, Feb. 23 from 1 to 2 p.m.

Learn the skills to maintain your WordPress website and blog. Topics include creating website backups, software updates, WordPress Core, PHP, setting up your firewall, monitoring activities, blacklisting and whitelisting IP addresses, and configuring your security plugin. This virtual workshop, hosted by Washington County Library and funded by MELSA, will be presented by Keer Keer Creative. Registration is required. Virtual Minnesota Author Series: Shannon Gibney

Tuesday, Feb. 23 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Join us for our Minnesota author series, Write in Our Midst, with author Shannon Gibney. Gibney is an award-winning author of novels, anthologies, essays, and picture books. She writes for adults, children, and everyone in-between. In addition to her work as an author, Gibney regularly teaches writing in a number of Twin Cities venues. She will discuss her work and answer audience questions. This program is funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

Virtual: Teen Gaming

Wednesday, Feb. 24 from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m.

Hey teens, let's get together and play online games like Jackbox, Board Game Arena, and Among Us! Players will need a computer or other device with an internet connection and Zoom. For ages 11-17. Registration is required.

Virtual Let's Make Stuff: Mandala Dot Painting on a Vinyl Record

Thursday, Feb. 25 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Join us for Virtual Let's Make Stuff! to get crafty and learn something new. In this class each participant will learn the basics of Mandala dot painting and use their new skills to customize a vinyl record with paint and dotting tools. This program will be held virtually via Zoom. All basic supplies will be included in your kit, which should be available for pickup 7-10 days before the event at your specified library. After setting up your website or blog, this online class will introduce you to methods for measuring the success of your website outreach. Set goals, learn about the functionality of Google Analytics, examine your demographic data, and consider other outreach methods. Virtual Club Book: Claire Lombardo

Thursday, March 18 from 6:30 to 7:30 P.M.

Join Club Book and Washington County Library for a virtual evening with Claire Lombardo! Lombardo is author of The Most Fun We Ever Had, which follows the fortunes and factious relationships of four sisters over five decades. The Chicago Tribune, People magazine, and Good Housekeeping singled out The Most Fun We Ever Had as one of the best books of summer 2019, and the book is currently being adapted for an HBO series. This event will be held live on Facebook. No registration required. This project was funded with money from Minnesota’s Art and Cultural Heritage Fund.
