Project Information

Due to safety concerns during construction activity, the east entrance of Birchwood Road at Wildwood Beach Road is closed to all vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic until further notice. Please follow all detour and closure signs on the roadway.

This week, the City’s contractor installed the concrete fence bases, and aggregate shouldering. Next week, the fence will be installed along trail adjacent to the wetlands, and the wear course will be paved on Monday. During paving operations, vibratory rollers will be used for compacting the bituminous pavement. These may cause vibrations at your home, but the vibrations will be at safe levels. The roadway will not be closed during paving, but there may be temporary delays . We ask everyone to please drive carefully and following all signs and instructions from the contractor. Please note this schedule is weather dependent, subject to change, and will be updated as necessary.

As the project progresses, should you have any questions, please reach out to the contacts listed below. During construction, an on-site representative will be present on site each day who will be your ﬁrst point of contact and fastest way to get an answer for all questions regarding construction. Newsletters will be delivered or emailed weekly as the project progresses to inform property owners of the progress and upcoming construction schedule.

Construction working hours within the City of Mahtomedi are 7 am-7 pm during weekdays and 8 am-5 pm on Saturdays. Work is not permitted on Sundays or holidays.
