[ARCHIVED] Winter Plowing: How Residents Can Help

Winter Plowing Residents Info (IMAGE)

With more than 3 inches of snow predicted for today, we would like to remind Mahtomedi residents how they can help our crews with plowing efforts.

• Follow the winter parking restrictions -  Parking restrictions are designed to facilitate effective plowing during the snow season and prohibit parking of motor vehicles on public streets and alleys from 1:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. City Ordinance also prohibits on-street parking anytime three or more inches of snow has accumulated until after the street has been plowed to full width.
• Be patient. Plowing takes time.
• Be prepared for winter driving and delays.
• Keep children away when snowplows are out.
Keep fire hydrants clear of snow.
• Do not place snow onto a City street.
• Give snowplows room to work and do not pass.
• Place trash containers behind the curb.
